The Episcopal Mission in Sunnyside is seeking a creative and collaborative musician to help cultivate immersive, participatory, and embodied spiritual experiences. We are looking for someone who will use sound and music to help this emergent community cultivate a “thin place”—a place where we become porous to the mysterious presence of a gracious, fellow-suffering God.

Compensation: This is a part-time, salaried position (average 8-10 hrs. per week): ~ $25,000 / year

• Pay commensurate with experience and skill set. (And open to negotiation.)

• Subject to a clean background check.

• The position includes 2 weeks paid vacation time, including 3 Sundays.

About us: 

The Episcopal Mission in Sunnyside is a new, progressive community of Christian practice in the beautifully diverse neighborhood of Sunnyside, Queens. For the last year we have been in a season of experimentation and exploration, and we are preparing for a public launch this September.

We hope to select a number of candidates to interview with us via Zoom—and we’ll then ask for references. Finalists will come and meet with us in person. We expect to make an offer this spring with a mutually agreed start time in late Summer 2025—providing time to research and prepare for the start of weekly worship in September.
